«When SMEs take control on failure»

Program

Due to its multidisciplinary nature, corporate insolvency has been the subject of an increasing number of studies. The wave of bankruptcies that happened recently and their impact on individuals and society as a whole boots a literature already rich and various. This proliferation of dedicated scientific studies on identifying the warning signs of an impending bankruptcy is justified by the extent of the phenomenon and its impact on a large number of economic agents.
However, beyond the question of corporate bankruptcy prediction, other issues are at stake. Indeed, bankruptcy is not only characterized by its economic, financial, and legal dimensions, but also by social and psychological components that are still rarely explored.
The International Conference on Corporate Bankruptcy is co-organized by EconomiX, a joint CNRS-Université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense research unit, and humanOrg, a research institute of the University of Mons. Focused on the origins and the consequences of SMEs’ failure or bankruptcy, this second edition of the International Conference on Corporate Bankruptcy is sponsored by the Association Internationale de Recherche en Entrepreneuriat et PME (AIREPME) and the Académie de l’Entrepreneuriat et de l’Innovation (AEI).
